A look at photos from just a year ago reveals a lot of growth for most of us, and the same applies to our favorite stars. In their case, keeping up with appearances comes with the territory., and it’s no secret that showbiz places emphasis on physical looks. Alongside the natural process of aging, some celebrities have gone under the knife in attempts to slow down the hands of time.

Most of these famous folks have graced our screens for the past decade, and we've literally watched them morph before our eyes. Here is a list of some of the celebrities who have gone through radical transformations.

Zac Efron

Zac Efron has come a long way from his Disney Days when he starred in the High School Musical movies. He still maintains his dashing looks and award-winning talent displayed in The Lucky One and The Greatest Showman. Now at 33, he's delivering even more outstanding performances in films like Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil. 

His huskier look in the 2020 Netflix series Down to Earth with Zac Efron surprised fans. Sporting a full, bushy beard, he now seems more like the outdoorsman rather than the boy next door but still handsome regardless. Efron has upcoming credits in Gold, King of the Jungle, and The Greatest Beer Run Ever.

Ariel Winter

Most of us became better acquainted with Ariel Winter from Modern Family as the nerdy yet adorable Alex Dunphy. Over the 241 episodes she graced from 2009 to 2020, she went through quite a few changes. For starters, she progressed in age and is now 23 years old. Behind the scenes, Winter had a breast reduction procedure at the age of 15.

In 2019, she embarked on a weight loss journey explaining that the years spent on antidepressants came with a few extra pounds. An Instagram post she shared explained that switching her medication helped drop the weight alongside working out. Winter is scheduled for appearances in Pools, Don't Log Off, and Crimelands.

 

Yasmine Bleeth

Yasmine Bleeth is forever etched in our memories from her Baywatch days, but she also left equally lasting impressions with appearances in One Life to Live and Ryan's Hope. It's now about two decades since she graced our screens in the iconic red Baywatch swimsuit and looks quite different now at 53. 

Photos surfaced early in 2020 of Bleeth walking her dog around the Southern California neighborhood where she resides. Fans barely recognized her because of the drastic physical changes. Bleeth had a recreational drug problem but beat it in 2000 at the Malibu-based Promises rehab clinic. She confessed that since then, her life is now all about consciously staying away from drugs.

 

MJ Rodriguez

Michaela Antonia Jaé Rodriguez, better known as MJ Rodriguez, ventured into showbiz after attending several performing arts schools in her earlier years. Performing on the staging of Rent gave her a start in the industry. She then went on a hiatus to transition and made a comeback in 2012, working on stage with minor roles in shows like Nurse Jackie and The Carrie Diaries.

Rodriguez gained heightened fame after starring in the Netflix series Pose from 2018 to 2021. She lent her voice to the 2021 TV series Hot White Heist and has an upcoming role in an untitled Alan Yang/ Matt Hubbard project.

Ruby Rose

Ruby Rose found fame in the Australian modeling and media industries. She gained prominence as an MTV Australia presenter and teamed up with Maybelline New York as the face of their brand in Australia. From 2008, she pursued acting with appearances in Orange Is the New Black, Pitch Perfect 3, and  Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Rose has always been open about her orientation and even said that she thought about transitioning. Throughout her life and career, she has shifted between feminine and masculine looks or, according to her "reincarnations." She has upcoming roles in The Yacht, 1UP, and The Legitimate Wiseguy.

Chaz Bono

Chaz Bono ventured into Hollywood, thanks to growing up with famous folks - Cher and Sonny Bono. In 1995, he publicly came out as gay and started his transformation from female to male in mid-2008. He also lost weight with the help of Dr. Travis Stork (The Doctors) in 2012 and lost 85 lbs.

Now living as a transgender man, he is actively involved in LGBT activism efforts and pens numerous publications related to gay rights. He also backs the National Coming Out Campaign. As an actor, he made appearances in American Horror Story, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the 2020 film Reboot Camp.

Chrissy Metz

Portraying Kate Pearson on This is Us in a way mirrored Chrissy Metz's real-life struggles. For years, she battled with weight problems and even attempted Weight Watchers when she was 11 years old. After several fluctuations over the years, she started her weight loss journey by consuming fewer calories.

Metz managed to lose 100lbs and even had the storyline included on This Is Us, even though her character wasn't really required to lose weight. She maintains her role on This is Us and her voice role in Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny.

Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson declared that 2020 was the year she would gain back control over her health. By August 2020, she had 17 pounds to go before attaining her goal weight and reached the target later in November. She lost 60 pounds in total thanks to the Mayr Method. 

Wilson had assistance from Jono Catano on her workouts which also contributed to the impressive weight loss. She admitted that people wouldn't look at her twice before, but it's all different now. Wilson is slated to keep doing what she does best with upcoming appearances in the Seahorse and The Almond.

Jocelyn Wildenstein

Jocelyn Wildenstein's surgical enhancements are perhaps even more famous than the woman herself. An American socialite, she went all out on surgeries to obtain her catlike appearance. It proved a costly endeavor to the point of leaving her bankrupt in 2018.

At 80 years old, Wildenstein still struggles with the aftermath of her past surgeries. The New York Post reported in 2020 that she no longer owns her three Trump World Tower condos. Listed in 2017, the units had an $11M price tag, but given her dire financial situation, the amount went down to $7.6M.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively won our hearts on Gossip Girl as Serena van der Woodsen. She was already a big deal in the Hollywood circles after starring in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films. Her star power continued shining with appearances in The Shallows, A Simple Favor, and The Rhythm Section. 

At 33, not much has changed in terms of her appearance except for her nose. She had a somewhat wider nose in her earlier years, and as the years have gone by, it's gotten slimmer. She reportedly had a rhinoplasty, and it's subtle enough to almost go unnoticed. She is slated to appear in The Husband's Secret.

Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra came under the spotlight in 1993 with the release of her self-titled album. Glamour modeling heightened her fame, and she regularly worked with Hugh Hefner's lifestyle and entertainment magazine. Starring in Baywatch further raised her profile in the industry, and at 48, she is still considered a bombshell.

It's undeniable that Electra has aged, but she is wearing her 40s rather well. We don't see her on our screen too often these days, but most recently, she was featured in the sports documentary titled The Last Dance, released in 2020.

Denise Richards

Saved by the Bell was a huge show in the '90s, and it's one of the productions that helped Denise Richards earn her stripes in the industry. From the world of fashion modeling, she didn't have any trouble transitioning to acting and notably appeared in the Bond film The World Is Not Enough. 

Richards continues looking youthful even at 50, and many have associated it with plastic surgery. She has gone under the knife three times for breast augmentation procedures, but the rest is seemingly just down to great genes. Richards continues acting with upcoming roles in Love Accidentally, Happy Hazel, and Among the Ashes.

Caitlyn Jenner

Perhaps Caitlyn Jenner is the star on this list who has undergone the most radical transformation. The former Olympian went through gender reassignment procedures and is now a trans woman. She had facial-feminization procedures as well as hairline correction surgeries.

Jenner is best known as the Kardashian-Jenner patriarch and from appearances in Keeping Up With The Kardashians. She starred in I Am Cait which documented her transitioning process. These days she runs a YouTube channel and continues sharing snippets of her life. At 70 years old, she doesn't have plans to slow down and is running in the upcoming 2021 California gubernatorial elections.

Rita Ora

When Rita Ora hopped onto Dj Fresh's 2012 hit Hot Right Now, it made her an instant star. She cemented her place in the music industry with her self-titled debut album. Bang is one of her latest singles released in February 2021 off of Ora's upcoming EP. At 30, she maintains her youthful glow and has undergone a couple of surgical enhancements.

She struggled with self-image issues earlier in her career and fixed some of the insecurities. Ora has breast augmentation, Botox, and a rhinoplasty to achieve her current look. The procedures didn't go overboard and simply gave her a natural-looking fuller frame.

Kylie Jenner

Thanks to her beauty business, Forbes ranked Kylie Jenner first on their 2020 list of the highest-paid celebrities. This was after the publication listed her on their 2019 self-made billionaires list, and at 21, it made her the world’s youngest person to achieve such recognition. Forbes accused her of forging tax documents and, in turn, retract the listing.

Regardless of the entire debacle, she continues increasing her fortunes thanks to Kylie Cosmetics. She started her surgical enhancements at the age of 17 and most notably got lip fillers. Rumor has it that she possibly got a rhinoplasty and must have done something to achieve her ample derriere.

Cher

Cherilyn Sarkisian made a name for herself as a chart-topping musician going by the mononym Cher. She is behind timeless hits like If I Could Turn Back Time and Believe. Her musical reign continues, and she is scheduled to go on the road with The Cher Show in 2021. 

At 74, Cher looks incredibly great, and she got some surgical help along the way. She admits to having undergone breast augmentation and rhinoplasty procedures. Surgical experts suggest that she might have also gotten facelifts, liposuction, and tummy tucks to maintain her stunning physique. 

Heidi Montag

The Hills: New Beginnings aired between 2019 to 2021, bringing together the reality show's former cast members, including Heidi Montag. Her relationship with Spencer Pratt, feud with Lauren Conrad, and the numerous surgeries she had frequently made the headlines. 

Most notably, she underwent ten procedures in a single day and nearly lost her relationship because of it. Montag got breast implants, neck liposuction, and a chin reduction, amongst other procedures. Alongside her husband, they admitted that their frivolous displays of wealth came at a high cost, and it nearly led them to financial ruin.

Tara Reid

Tara Reid created a lasting impression from her appearances in the American Pie movies. She is still involved in the industry and has several upcoming features in films like Mixxer, Room Ten, Aquatic Siege, and Ghostkiller. At 45, Reid looks markedly different, and it has a lot to do with a couple of botched procedures.

She had a breast enhancement that didn't quite turn out as expected and also confessed to having a bulgy stomach. While the procedures were meant to perfect her body, she felt more insecure than before going under the knife. Reid eventually had all the botched surgeries rectified.

Nicki Minaj

Onika Tanya Maraj is best known as Nicki Minaj, her stage moniker. She is a new mom, having recently welcomed a son with her husband, Kenneth Perry, in September 2020. Impressively, She has bounced back in no time at all, but it isn't as drastic as her overall transformation since joining the music industry.

For years, photos of Minaj from her pre-fame days floated around the internet. It shows her without the curves and ample behind hence the rumors that she had surgeries at some point. She has never admitted to getting anything done, but experts think that she might have undergone hip and breast enhancement procedures.

Antonela Roccuzzo

Antonela Roccuzzo is the wife of the renowned football player Lionel Messi since 2017. However, the pair has been in love since 2008 and expanded their family with the addition of three sons. Roccuzzo was a former dentistry student who has now signed a modeling contract with the Argentine fashion house Ricky Sarkany.

Lately, however, fans have noticed a significant change in Roccuzzo's appearance, alleging that her lips looked unusually big. She is thought to have undergone cosmetic surgery to change the shape of her lips, even though she is yet to confirm or deny any of these rumors.

Elliot Page

You may remember Elliot Page from roles in "Trailer Park Boys" and "Juno." But the Canadian actor/producer looked a lot different back then. At the time, Page had still not come out as transgender. But in 2020, Page decided to live his truth to the fullest, becoming the first trans man to make it to the cover of Time magazine in the subsequent year.

Page's remarkable transformation takes nothing away from his incredible acting career, which is still going strong. In 2021, Page sat down with Oprah Winfrey in an episode of "The Oprah Conversation" and appeared in "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion."

Linda Evangelista

The Canadian model Linda Evangelista is known for her recurrent switches in style, mainly highlighted by how she changed her hair color and format over the years. But in 2021, she went through a change she didn't plan. According to People magazine, she claimed to be "permanently deformed" following a gone-bad aesthetic procedure.

Evangelista claimed that the procedure left her feeling depressed and unrecognizable. While there's a noticeable change to Evangelista's face, she still looks great for a woman who was born in 1965! Voted "Fashion File"'s 'Greatest Supermodel of All Time,' Evangelista is one of the executive producers of the documentary mini-series "The Supermodels."

Donatella Versace

The Versace family is practically fashion royalty, and  Donatella Versace is equally a respected figure in the industry. After her brother's untimely death in 1997, she inherited part of the luxury Versace brand he established. Donatella still serves as the chief creative officer of Capri Holdings, but she sold the brand in 2018.

She has always openly admitted to getting multiple surgeries in attempts to slow down the hands of time. After battling cocaine addiction for 18 years, Donatella kicked the habit and also gave up smoking in 2014. Tanning is the one habit she can't seem to shake off, and the effects haven't been kind to her skin.

Barry Manilow

Copacabana hit-maker Barry Manilow has always admitted that he got some help with keeping his facial muscles tightened. He turned to botox for the tightening factor and also to rid his eyes off the extra hanging skin. It's the reason behind the striking cheekbones he rocks even now in his 70s.

Manilow had an accident that saw him bump his nose on a wall, and surgery helped fix the aftermath. His new nose appears straighter, elongated, and quite natural. He released Night Songs II in 2020 to a No.32 debut on the Billboard 200.

Angus T. Jones - Two and a Half Men

Made famous for his appearances in the sitcom "Two and a Half Men," the former American actor Angus T. Jones was once one of Hollywood's best-paid performers, with a whopping salary of $350K per episode! But his religious views forced him to abandon the series (and acting in general) to live a quiet life away from the spotlight.

In 2021, a paparazzi caught Jones entering his car while barefoot and boasting a large beard. It was the first time audiences got to see Jones since 2016, the year he appeared briefly in "Horace and Pete." Don't worry, though: still worth an impressive $20 million, Jones looked pretty happy!

Megan Fox

Meghan Fox left a lasting impression from her appearances in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers series of movies. Her stunning looks have also seen her grace the cover of publications like Rolling Stone and Maxim. 

At 34, Fox maintains her stunning looks and doesn't appear to have aged much since joining the industry at the age of 15. She reportedly had work done to define her cheekbones and got lip fillers. Fox is still landing huge roles and has upcoming features in Midnight in the Switchgrass, Brick Gold Brick, and Golden Dolphin.

Drew Barrymore

The award-winning actress, Drew Barrymore, took to Instagram in October 2021 to boast of her inspiring fitness metamorphosis. The mother of two spoke of slimming down for her role as Sheila Hammond on the "The Santa Clarita Diet" comedy-horror show. Fast forward, and she achieved a 20-pound weight loss—and has the before-and-after photos prove it.

Barrymore has been through other transformations, even more severe. She had a very tricky relationship with her mom, and then, over 30 years of therapy and a path of forgiveness, she has held her own as a successful actress and even as a talk show host in 2021.

Hudson Thames

Move over, Tom Holland; there is a new spidey in town for 2021! Well, at least a Spiderman voice-over, and it is none other than Hudson Thames. Thames, spelled like the river, is an American actor, singer, and songwriter who performed minor roles in "Mad Men" and "A-List."

Now Hudson has stepped into his own as a musical talent. He has headlined major performances over the pandemic, even touring with Rob Thomas (Matchbox Twenty). He has used his platform and the collaboration of others to raise thousands of dollars for various charitable causes, like City of Hope, The Princes Trust, and The Fisher Place. 

Julia Stiles

Stiles' career started very early—when she was only 11 years old! Her break-out role as Kat Stratford in "10 Things I Hate About You" set up her career. It was award-winning, scooping, among others, the Chicago Film Critics Association Award in 2000.

As with others in the thread, Stiles has initiated a transformation that will usher her into the second phase of her career after 50 films: directing her own. She revealed in 2021 that she might never be a mainstream actress again. After the success of "Riviera," she will make her directing debut with "Wish You Were Here."

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham still has the fresh-faced look she sported from her days as Posh Spice. Now at 47, she has progressed in age and got a few enhancements over the years. Most notably, she caught everyone's attention during a 2008 interview thanks to her updated look. She had gone four cup sizes up after a breast enhancement procedure.

Three years later, she removed the implants explaining that they were highly uncomfortable because of their size. With 29M followers on Instagram and as the mother of a 10-year-old daughter, Victoria advises young girls to embrace themselves and love their bodies as they are.

Lil' Kim

Kimberly Denise Jones is better known by her alias Lil' Kim. She came under the spotlight in the '90s, and her debut album titled Hard Core sold more than six million copies globally. Most recently, she narrated the second season of American Gangster: Trap Queen, aired in 2021. 

Lil' Kim's look has changed drastically over the years, and it started with breast enlargement. She reportedly also got a rhinoplasty and sparked internet chatter with her drastic skin transformation. She now appears at least three shades lighter and looks incredible at 47.

Roseanne Barr

Roseanne Barr became a household name through her eponymous show, which earned her a Golden Globe as well as an Emmy. While she kept racking up the accolades, she wasn't too happy with her weight gain. At her heaviest, the scale read 350 pounds. 

When Roseanne made a comeback on our screens, Barr's weight loss was noticeably evident. She had a bariatric bypass procedure to kick start her weight loss process. She subsequently lost 200 pounds. She also had a tummy tuck as well as a breast lift, and she now looks stunning than ever.

Kris Jenner

Kristen Mary Jenner is widely credited for pushing her entire family under the spotlight and earning them international fame. Kris is now in her 60s and wears her age rather well, except for the few times she’s been caught altering her social media images to appear younger.

Frankly, she doesn’t even need to go through the hassle because her body and skin are kind to her as the years go by. She has admitted to getting work done, including breast enlargement procedures and a nose job. Kris also shared on an episode of Keeping Up with The Kardashians that she had cheek fillers and brow lifts.

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton is a talented woman who has given us a series of classic hits like Jolene and Coat of Many Colors. Despite earning numerous accolades and worldwide respect, she opposed the Tennessee legislature's 2021 proposal to -put up a statue in her honor. She is 75 and still has a spring to her step while looking incredibly great at that age.

Parton has admitted to having work done over the years, and in turn, she also got tattoos to cover up the scars. It even gave rise to rumors that her entire body is covered in ink, but she told ABC News it isn't true and that she mostly settles for butterflies and flowers.

Rumer Willis

Rumer Willis was always destined for fame, being the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Rumer has appeared in films like Sorority Row, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Hostage. She's also featured in several TV shows like Empire and Dancing with the Stars. Most recently, we saw her in an episode of the 2020 procedural series 9-1-1.

Rumer is now 32, and she's grown into a gorgeous and elegant woman. Feeling uncomfortable about certain parts of her body, she's had work done fixing her jawline and got lip fillers. Additionally, she had a breast enhancement procedure.

Demi Moore

Demi Moore created ripples as a Brat Pack member with appearances in St. Elmo's Fire, Blame It On Rio, and About Last Night. Moore is still at it and diversifying her portfolio, like in 2020 when she joined other stars to model lingerie for Savage x Fenty Vol. 2 by Rihanna.

Moore hasn't changed in any unusual ways, and it has a thing to do with the skin-tightening procedures she's had done. She told the Daily Mail that she gets the treatments to firm up the surface of the skin using radio frequencies. These procedures can set you back by as much as $150K annually.

Nadya Suleman

Nadya Suleman's claim to fame is having eight children from one pregnancy. Most women have trouble bouncing back after having just one child, and it was even more difficult for her. Carrying multiple children placed an excessive strain on her waistline, and Suleman decided to have a post-birth tummy tuck.

Dubbed "Octomom," she has been the subject of controversy with claims that she used funds for her children's care to pay for her procedures. Suleman dismissed the rumors and said that she paid for the surgeries using money she earned herself.

Kathy Griffin

Kathy Griffin is a woman who speaks her mind, and it extends to revealing that she had work done over the years. She went a step further and detailed the surgeries in her publication, A Memoir, According to Kathy Griffin. 

Amongst the list of procedures are the regular botox schedules, she keeps which has helped keep the wrinkles at bay. She explained that her line of work calls for keeping up with appearances. Griffin has been keeping busy with work, and in 2021 she was featured in the documentary titled Hysterical.

Wendy Williams

Wendy Williams shot to fame hosting her nationally syndicated eponymous talk show. Through the years, her physique has gone through transformations stemming from lifestyle changes. She admittedly wanted to look good and dropped 50 pounds. A pescetarian program coupled with Pilates and cardio worked for her.

Williams also had a breast enhancement procedure in the past, saying that she wanted to match her appearance and personality. Given that she had the surgery done about two decades ago, the surgeon gets credits for doing an exceptional job. Lifetime aired a documentary titled Wendy Williams: What a Mess! early in 2021, recounting key moments in her life.

Lisa Kudrow

 

Lisa Kudrow is forever etched in our memories as Phoebe Buffay, the character she portrayed on Friends. She is 57 and loving the aging process to the point of shunning fillers and other surgical enhancements. However, in the past, she was open to these procedures and even had one done.

Kudrow revealed during a 2013 interview that she had a rhinoplasty at the age of 16. After joining her former Friends castmates for a reunion special, she still has several roles in the works. Kudrow is slated to appear in Better Nate Than Ever and lent her voice to the upcoming TV movie Bright Futures.

Kourtney Kardashian

Out of all the Kardashian-Jenner family members, Kourtney Kardashian has consistently maintained her appearance. She is the eldest sibling of the Kar-Jenner clan and visibly has great genes on her side. At 42, she barely looks her age, even after welcoming three children.

However, Kourtney got breast implants when she was in college but hasn't had any work done that we know of since then. Since splitting up with the father of her three children, Scott Disick, she has been back on the dating scene. As of 2021, Kourtney is dating Travis Barker.

David Schwimmer

Ross Geller is the character David Schwimmer portrayed in the long-running '90s sitcom Friends. He recently reunited with his former castmates for the 2021 Friends special and has visibly aged like everyone else. 

Schwimmer has been the subject of surgical enhancement rumors over the years, with fans speculating that he possibly had a rhinoplasty and facelift done. Now at 54, it just looks like he went through the natural process of aging. Schwimmer has maintained a consistent flow of work over the years with a notable feature in Will & Grace, The Laundromat, and Intelligence.

Janice Dickinson

Janice Dickinson peaked in the '70s and '80s, strutting the runways. The 2000s came with more fame for her on the small screen when she served as part of America's Next Top Model's judging panel. Dickinson has had multiple surgeries to try and conceal the effects of aging.

The costly habit that started in her youth left her with piles of unpaid bills. Eventually, she figured that it wasn't worth running into financial ruin, and Dickinson chose to embrace herself as she is. Recently, she made an appearance on The Bachelor in 2020.

Val Kilmer

There's no disputing that Val Kilmer is one of the most versatile actors in the business. His range is displayed in films like Batman Forever, Top Gun, and The Prince of Egypt. Kilmer packed on a few extra pounds at one point and became the subject of unkind media headlines.

Kilmer worked on his weight but went overboard with his routine, shedding more pounds than expected. He appears to have found the sweet spot eventually and has had his weight in check for quite a while now. Kilmer has also kept himself busy with work and is slated to appear in The Birthday Cake.

Melanie Griffith

The 1984 movie Body Double marked Melanie Griffith's breakthrough. More standout roles followed in Mullholand Falls, The Night We Called It a Day, and Buffalo Girls. Several decades later, Griffith is 63 years old and still picking up roles in like her most recent feature in the 2020 film High Note. 

At some point, she decided to get plastic surgery to fix a few of her perceived flaws. It didn't go unnoticed, and folks didn't exactly have the kindest things to say about her surgically-enhanced appearance. Griffith reportedly had the fillers she got dissolved and is now aging ever so gracefully.

Scott Thompson

Carrot Top doesn't need any introduction to his '90s fans. His signature red hair is almost as famous as the man's propensity to crack people up. Three decades later, Thompson is still involved in the industry and recently had a feature in Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.

At 56, he hasn't changed his colorful mane, but his body displays signs of aging. The Luxor Theater offered him a five-year extension deal in 2021, and Carrot Top stands as the Las Vegas Strip's longest-running resident comedian. His sets typically involve various props that he describes hilariously in one-liners.

Courtney Love

Courtney Love looks quite different from when she headlined Nirvana. She had several surgical procedures over the years, and it started with a nose job at 20. At 35, she had a facelift done and appears to have also gotten her cheekbones defined. She revealed in March 2021 that battling anemia nearly claimed her life. 

The changes haven't had any effect on her music, and she released Mother in 2020 as the soundtrack for The Turning. Earlier that year, the NMR Awards recognized her contributions as one of the past three decades' influential artists.
