From Humble to Overbearing, Let's Take a Look at The Houses of America's Most Prominent Politicians

Ami Ciccone

The world of politics is ruthless. Never mind the competition: dealing with the criticism of the press and public alone can be an extremely demanding task. But if there's something we've learned by getting to know the houses of America's most prominent political figures, it is that life in politics also comes with its perks.

From former presidents to rising stars of the Senate, our list features the humble (and not so humble) abodes of the men and women we all love to judge, criticize, and—once every four years—vote for. From Trump Tower to CityCenterDC, let's take a look at the beautiful properties America's most influential people call home!

Adam Frisch - Colorado, Undisclosed

In November 2022, politician Adam Frisch conceded to his tight competitor Lauren Boebert in a House race for a Colorado congressional district. This was surprising to some, considering the latter's lead by only 551 votes. However, experts said it might be headed for a recount.

Still, it is safe to say that his wife, Katy, and their kids, remain highly supportive of Frisch. They have been living in Aspen, Colorado, since 2003, after the couple moved following their wedding in Vail. Not much is known about their abode in the state, but the politician probably had a hand in the building because he worked on construction after leaving New York.

John Fetterman - Pennsylvania, Undisclosed

The new Senate-elect and 34th lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania may not be a celebrity, but he lives like one. Judging from his pictures with his wife, it's easy to notice how he towers at an impressive 6 foot 8 inches, which is why this 12-foot tall home gives him plenty of room to flaunt his height.

The mansion, which was once an indoor Chevy automobile dealership, is loved by Fetterman primarily for its openness. And considering his claustrophobia, it makes sense. They first came across the house in 2013 when it was in rough shape, but they have now renovated it to their perfect taste.

Hillary Clinton - Washington, Undisclosed

In 2021, the former chief of staff of Hillary Clinton, Huma Abedin, recalled her time alongside the American politician, stating that she stayed with her husband Bill Clinton because he was "right for herself, her family, and her country." The truth is that, despite going through many difficulties, Hillary and Bill still make for one of Washington's most powerful couples, and they have a house worthy of their status!

In 2019, they opened the doors of their lavish Washington property to Architectural Digest and revealed a tasteful 5,500-square-foot family home with a huge swimming pool and lots of natural light. Designer Rosemarie Howe beautifully decorated the place.

Barack Obama - Washington, $8.1 Million

One of the high-profile speakers present at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), the former president, Barack Obama, is still pretty close to the ins and outs of politics. Evidence of that is the fact that he still owns property in Washington, the city where he served for eight busy years as the world's most powerful man.

After renting this exquisite family home for years, Barack and his wife Michelle decided to have it for good and acquired it for the reported price of $8.1 million. It features a dreamy kitchen, a roomy garden, as well as a fitness room and sits in the trendy neighborhood of Kalorama.

Jimmy Carter - Georgia, $167K

Years after leaving the White House, former president Jimmy Carter is still a divisive figure. In November 2021, WashingtonMonthly published a piece on the "greatness" of Carter and Bloomberg responded with an article on his "weakness" (all within the space of less than a week)! We guess unanimity is pretty much impossible when it comes to politics, but we're sure of one thing: Carson lives in a house that's consensually below his means.

As reported by CNBC in 2018, Carter resides in a humble $167K Georgia home that sits in a rural area, and that's worth less than most Secret Service vehicles! It's astonishing since Carter has a fortune of $10 million.

Kamala Harris - Brentwood, $2.7 Million

According to a 2021 The Daily Wire headline, Kamala Harris is "the most unpopular vice president in 50 years." While outlets such as The Washington Post have raised some doubts about the reliability of the poll, Harris has a big challenge ahead of her and needs to win over the hearts of the American people once more.

Luckily, she can always visit her Brentwood, California mansion whenever she needs a break from Washington's grinding frenzy. Acquired for $2.7 million, the sunny property comes with a huge swimming pool and is, according to The Sun, just one of the beautiful homes that make up Harris's $8-million real estate catalog.

Andrew Cuomo - Westchester, $1.6 Million

In 2021, the former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo went from local hero to national zero after being forced to resign from duty in the aftermath of a harassment scandal. Two years before, in 2019, he divorced his ex-wife Sandra Lee, an Emmy-award-winning chef.

Following the split, Lee listed the Westchester house she used to share with her hubby for $1.6 million—a fair price to pay for the four-bedroom property, which also comes with a fitness room and library. Lee may be trying to get rid of her Westchester abode, but it's not like she's downsizing: before listing the house, she bought a Malibu oceanfront villa for $3.3 million.

Arnold Schwarzenegger – Los Angeles, $11 Million

From Austrian immigrant to American bodybuilder, from action-flick hero to Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger is accustomed to challenging conformity. He resided in a Pacific Palisades castle-like mansion with his ex-wife Maria Shriver, but he decided to "terminate" it in November 2021.

As reported by The Sacramento Bee, Schwarzenegger's former abode hit the market with an asking price of $11 million. The lucky buyers will have access to seven bedrooms, a chef's kitchen, a fitness room, a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a nice view of the beach. Now back in Hollywood, Schwarzenegger starred in the 2021 animated series "Superhero Kindergarten."

George W. Bush - Texas, $1.3 Million

In November 2021, CNN reported that former presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush were trying to convince Americans to build a National Medal of Honor Museum. It's not usual to see a former Republican president work alongside his Democratic colleagues, but Bush may be drawing some inspiration from his peaceful 1,600-acre Texas estate.

Bush's Texas ranch is so famous that it has its own name—Prairie Chapel Ranch—and Wikipedia page! Remarkably, the proud Texan former president was able to snatch the place for just $1.3 million in the late '90s, with a little help from the former Texas Secretary of State Elton Boomer.

Dana Perino - New Jersey, Undisclosed

Known for her work in the 2021 TV series "America's Newsroom" and for appearing in over 2,000 episodes of "The Five," the former White House press secretary Dana Perino is one of Fox News's most renowned TV hosts. In 2020, at the height of lockdown, she was forced to broadcast directly from her bedroom.

Seeing Perino in her Bay Head, New Jersey home was like a breath of fresh air, and viewers were charmed by her beautiful pet dog. Interestingly, Perino once told a local newspaper that one of her favorite activities while at home is watching trains leave the nearby station.

Donald Trump - New York, $100 Million

If you've ever been to New York City, you may have passed by Donald Trump's residence: after all, the man's name's written in the door! In 2016, it was reported that the former president of the United States lived in a $100-million penthouse overlooking Central Park.

'Luxury' is the keyword when it comes to Trump Tower, which is filled with 24-carat gold details and was inspired by the lavish French monarch Louis XIV. Arguably one of the world's most famous men, Trump's been relatively quiet since leaving his job at the White House. According to Newsweek, he was ahead of Joe Biden in a 2024 election poll published in 2021.

John Kerry - Martha's Vineyard, $12 Million

The former presidential candidate John Kerry was one of the many high-profile speakers present at COP26, where he talked positively about how the world's closer to avoiding climate chaos. Years before, in 2016, he listed his former Nantucket home for $25 million and invested $12 million in a Martha's Vineyard property.

Looking for a more serene lifestyle, Kerry and his wife Teresa Heinz now reside in a gated 18-acre property sitting in a very exclusive area. Their Martha's Vineyard neighbors are not bad either: the Obamas visit the place often, and celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Larry David also own property there.

Ivanka Trump - Washington, $18K Per Month

Seen visiting a Jewish food bamp in Miami in November 2021, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner have reportedly left their lavish rental home in Washington. Now the house's up for grabs once again, and it takes $18K per month to enjoy the property's many amenities.

Sitting in a Washington neighborhood described as "super posh," Ivanka's former abode features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a private patio. While living there, Ivanka and Kushner paid $15K per month rent. How posh is the neighborhood? Well, let's just say that the likes of Barack Obama and Jeff Bezos live just a few blocks away.

Bernie Sanders – Vermont, $575K

In 2021, the American politician Bernie Sanders was criticized by the billionaire Elon Musk, who went as far as saying, "I keep forgetting you're still alive." Not a very popular figure amongst the wealthiest men in the nation, let's-tax-the-rich Sanders isn't doing badly himself: after all, he owns a comfortable $575K vacation home in Vancouver.

When Sanders acquired the property in 2016, multiple outlets criticized him for splashing over half a million in the beautiful lakefront home, with some asking, "can socialists do that?" Socialist or not, Sanders too is entitled to enjoy the fruits of his labor and spend his $3-million fortune in whichever way he finds appropriate.

Elizabeth Warren - Cambridge, $3 Million

American senator Elizabeth Warren is one of the most tireless professionals in the country's political scene. In 2021 alone, she was busy pressuring Joe Biden to issue pardons for non-violent cannabis convictions and promoting her controversial 'Amazon tax' plan. But how's she doing herself?

With a hefty net worth of $12 million, Warren's said to have at least two lavish properties to her name. She owns a $3-milion Cambridge residence with her husband and an $800K condo in Washington. According to Business Insider, Warren and her hubby Bruce H. Mann bought their Victorian-style Cambridge home in 1995 for just $447K and saw its value rise considerably.

Elijah Cummings - Baltimore, Undisclosed

In 2021, a Baltimore school dedicated its new media center to the late Elijah Cummings. A politician and civil rights advocate, Cummings was one of Baltimore's most-beloved high-profile figures up until the day of his passing, in October 2019. A few months before, his residence in the city made headlines, albeit not for the best reasons.

In the summer of 2019, Cummings was reportedly forced to "scare away" an intruder who tried to rob his Baltimore home. The whole situation was politicized at the time because the event took place just hours before Cummings published a controversial anti-Trump tweet.

Dianne Feinstein – Lake Tahoe, $41 Million

The American senator Dianne Feinstein was appointed the Chair of the International Narcotics Control Caucus in 2021 and decided to list her stunning Lake Tahoe property after just a few months on the job. Feinstein's vacation abode looks relatively accessible, but don't be fooled by its charming wooden ceilings: the whole estate (which is massive) goes for an asking price of $41 million!

The whole property features nine bathrooms and 11 bedrooms, and there's even a 172-foot pier that extends into the water. If you're a bonafide millionaire looking for the perfect vacation getaway, you may want to get your hands in this Sierra Nevada slice of heaven.

Ben Carson - Virginia, $1.35 Million

A former neurosurgeon, Ben Carson, made headlines in 2021 for calling the vaccines a "giant experiment." In addition to fueling an increasingly dangerous public debate, the American politician's also been busy experimenting with the real estate market.

Little is known about his former Virginia home, which sits in Vienna (not the Austrian city) and was sold for $1.35 million in 2020. Reportedly, Carson acquired the place for just $1.22 million a couple of years before and made the most of its proximity to Washington—less than half an hour away.

Madeleine Albright - Georgetown, Undisclosed

In 2021, the American politician Madeleine Albright spoke at Colin Powell's funeral and praised his "honesty," "dignity," and "loyalty." A reputable political legend herself, Albright's been a Georgetown resident for years and rests her head at a beautiful house near the university where she still works as a professor.

Teaching Practice of Diplomacy at Georgetown University, Albright is perhaps best known for serving as the 67th United States Secretary of State under President Bill Clinton. The daughter of a family of immigrants from Czechoslovakia, Albright's also said to have lived in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.

Nancy Pelosi - San Francisco, $2.3 Million

In 2021, the Daily Mail reported that Nancy Pelosi opposed Joe Biden's $1.75-trillion spending bill, which was supposed to raise taxes for multi-millionaire Americans such as herself. Pelosi's said to have a $120-million net worth, which is enough to make her one of the most privileged politicians on our list.

In 2021, it was reported that the American politician saw her $2.3-million home get vandalized with a graffiti message asking for more accessible rent. The news made it to several outlets in January 2021, but Reuters's fact-checkers dismissed the "fact" Pelosi's ever resided at this location. According to Reuters, the protestors didn't even target the right house.

Andrew Yang - New York, $500K

Too progressive for the Democrat Party, the former presidential candidate Andrew Yang announced the creation of the Forward Party in 2021, a new American political institution with universal basic income as one of its central policies. Not one to boast about his fortune, Wang's said to live with his wife and kids in a relatively small New York City apartment.

Details about Yang's house are very scarce, but he's said to rent (not own) the 2,700-square-foot property. It's said to cost about $500K, which is half of Yang's reported net worth of $1 million (according to Forbes).

Cory Booker - New Jersey, $435K

American senator Cory Booker is often described as a humble and relatable politician, and his modest $435K house in New Jersey fits his reputation. Known for being the first African American to present New Jersey in the Senate, Booker's also been making headlines for his romantic life, especially since he started dating actress Rosario Dawson.

Booker and Dawson's relationship was the main subject of a couple of "Saturday Night Live" sketches in 2021. The televised gags didn't convince Dawson, though, who later said that the show's writers didn't quite capture the true personality of her boyfriend.

Sarah Palin – Arizona, $6.2 Million

Sarah Palin's family keeps growing, as her daughter Willow announced she's expecting her third child in November 2021. Famous for being a former vice-presidential candidate and a former Alaska governor, Palin knows how to make the most of the property market and was at the center of a smart Arizona real estate move.

Through the Delaware LLC Safari Investments, Palin and her husband sold their Scottsdale, Arizona mansion at a profit, landing a hefty $6.2 million. According to AZCentral, the 7,660-square-foot estate features four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, as well as a gourmet chef kitchen, a negative edge pool, and a private elevator.

Al Gore - California, $9 Million

Undoubtedly one of the most resilient environmental activists in the United States, Al Gore, compared global warming to fascism in 2021. One of the COP26 main speakers, the former presidential candidate invested $9 million in a stunning Montecito, California home shortly after it was reported that he'd divorced his wife, Tipper Gore in 2010. The couple later denied the split.

Sitting in an exclusive neighborhood where the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Michael Douglas have also lived, Gore's Californian slice of heaven features 6,500 square feet of living space, a spa and private fountain, a view of the ocean, and six fireplaces!

Kari Lake - Phoenix, $1.2 Million

Kari Lake ran in the 2022 gubernatorial elections for the Office of the Governor of Arizona but lost to rival Katie Hobbs. The now-politician had initially started her career in the early '90s as a reporter. However, she worked for KSAZ-TV for 22 years, mostly as an anchor, before stepping down to pursue politics.

Although not much is known about her house in the Biltmore Estates neighborhood in Phoenix, Arizona, she bought it with her husband, Jeff Halperin, in 2017 for $590K, according to Virtual Globetrotting. The house was worth almost $1.2 million in October 2022. Halperin is a photojournalist and is the owner of a video production house.

Mike Pence - Indiana, $1.93 Million

The days of Mike Pence in Washington are over (at least for now), and, as announced, he moved back to Indiana with his family. After serving as Donald Trump's vice-president, the white-haired Republican invested $1.93 million in a new Carmel, Indiana residence. IndyStar first reported the acquisition in June 2021.

Described as a seven-bedroom mansion, Pence's new abode makes the perfect family home and sits on a roomy five-acre lot. It features many amenities, including an in-ground swimming pool, a dock overlooking a pond, a basketball court, and a media room.

Gabrielle Giffords - Tucson, Undisclosed

Known for her gun control advocacy, the former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords presented a Gun Violence Memorial in Los Angeles in 2021. After being gravely injured in a mass shooting, Giffords became a well-known political figure and spent years fighting against America's gun-control legislation.

A lawmaker who lived most of her life in her home state of Arizona, Giffords moved back to her Tucson family home in 2012 after spending months traveling all over the world. After serving in the House of Representatives, Giffords decided to retire from politics but remained a hardworking activist.

Ted Cruz - Houston, $2 Million

Mocked in a 2021 "Saturday Night Live" sketch after calling a Big Bird vaccine tweet "propaganda," the American politician Ted Cruz is best known for being a former Republican presidential candidate as well as serving as the United States Senator from Texas.

Speaking of Texas, it's worth mentioning that Cruz's $2-million Houston mansion made the news after the politician decided to leave the state for sunny Cancun in the middle of an energy crisis. Whether the power's on or off, Cruz's magnific Houston abode makes for a dreamy home, featuring five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a large patio with barbecue, and a game room.

Jen Psaki - Virginia, $1.7 Million

For Jen Psaki, communication has formed the basis of her career. However, one thing her 2021 appointment as White House Press Secretary shows is that she's good at what she does. While she's known for being an open book, the details of her house are anything but that.

After a long day of high-level press conferences, anyone would be grateful for a peaceful place to rest. For Psaki, she has that luxury in the form of this $1.7 million property. Bought in 2017, its short distance to Washington D.C. makes it ideal. Rated the safest city in 2020, Psaki must also fancy Virginia for more than its proximity to work.

Pete Buttigieg - Indiana, $125K

In 2021, Business Insider reported that Pete Buttigieg was to become the most powerful Transportation Secretary ever. Overseeing a massive $200-billion bill, the promising American politician from South Bend, Indiana, decided it was finally time to get rid of his very humble former abode.

Sitting in his local town, Buttigieg's former house was listed in March 2021 and sold quickly for an undisclosed price. According to the website LGTQ Nation, the house cost Buttigieg a mere $125K over a decade ago, and some outlets reported that the politician's mortgage sat at just $450 per month.

Joseph P. Kennedy III - Brookline, Undisclosed

Joseph P. Kennedy's Senate run didn't go as expected. However, The Boston Globe reported that the American politician is already plotting a new political path following his 2021 Senate defeat. The moment put an end to Kennedy's career in Congress after eight years in public service.

Because history matters when your last name is Kennedy, Joseph saw his 83 Beels Street home in Brookline, Boston, turned into a national historic site at least since February 2021. According to NPS, the fact that the Kennedys hung around the Coolidge Corner neighborhood caused the area to see rapid growth, attracting the interest of many real estate investors.

Letitia James – Brooklyn, Undisclosed

Letitia James is a renowned American lawyer and politician serving as the Attorney General of New York. Known for her staunch advocacy for social justice, consumer protection, and police reform, James has been at the forefront of high-profile legal battles, including those involving the Trump Foundation, the NRA, and Big Pharma.

A proud Brooklyn native, she has deep roots in the borough. She owns a beautiful townhouse in the historic Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, which she purchased in 2002 for $885K. Her four-story brownstone boasts five bedrooms, a spacious garden, and original details such as stained glass windows and a tin ceiling.

George Santos – Undisclosed

George Santos has an exciting story. Born to Brazilian immigrant parents and openly gay, he defied the odds of becoming a United States House of Representatives member. He embodies the American dream, but his political career has been tainted by controversy.

He was elected to represent New York's Third Congressional District in 2022 but has faced calls for resignation from dozens of Republican officials due to fabrications on the campaign trail. Despite this fracturing of local party support, congressional Republican leaders have refused to push Santos to resign. Although he claimed to own a home in Nantucket, there is no publicly available information to verify this.

Charles Schumer - Washington, Undisclosed

When you think of American legislators, we bet you don't imagine them sharing a two-bedroom pad in Capitol Hill. But according to The New York Times, Charles Schumer and fellow politicians such as Anthony Weiner used to live pretty much like college fratboys whenever they needed to be close to the action.

The legendary D Street house Schumer lived in three to four days of the week was compared to a crash pad and was home to many political figures over the years. Always in the thick of it, Schumer urged Joe Biden to tap America's petroleum reserve in the aftermath of a 2021 rise in fuel prices.

Maxine Waters - Los Angeles, $6 Million

In 2021, Yahoo! News reported that Maxine Waters was criticized for allegedly paying her daughter with campaign funds. It's not the first time that the Chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee is under the line of fire: in 2020, she was attacked (not physically) by rival candidate Joe Collins for living in a lavish mansion outside her district.

While Waters comes from one of Los Angeles's poorest districts, she lives in a luxurious $6-million property in the state's much "sunnier" 37th Congressional District. A loud voice in the Democratic Party, Waters was one of the fiercest opposers of the Donald Trump administration.

Marco Rubio - Miami, $675K

The host of FIU's 2021 Veterans Day Event, the American politician Marco Rubio used to brag about living in "the same working-class neighborhood" where he spent his childhood. While that was true for a while, the fact's that Rubio decided to get rid of his close-to-the-heart Miami abode in 2013 to relocate to Washington.

While quite charming, Rubio's 2,700-square-foot former Miami home sold for a discreet $675K. The unknown buyers gained access to four bedrooms and an oversized garage and ended up making Rubio's bank account slightly fatter: he was able to cut a nice profit after acquiring the property for $550K almost a decade before.

Amy Klobuchar - Minneapolis, Undisclosed

The American senator Amy Klobuchar was very busy in 2021, tackling urgent matters such as Canada's border restrictions and Big Tech's lack of financial regulation. While she's very open about her political stances, she's not one to open up much about her personal life.

While it's known that she used to reside in a comfortable family home in Minneapolis, details of her current abode may be hard to find. Understandably, politicians do everything they can to protect their privacy and families. Still, we'd love to know more about where Klobuchar rests her head after a long day in the Senate.

Beto O'Rourke - El Paso, Undisclosed

In November 2021, Beto O'Rourke's name was associated with Texas's race for Governor, and he was already attacked in an ad published by his possible rival Greg Abbott. While the future looks bright for O'Rourke, his one-of-a-kind El Paso home is all about the past.

O'Rourke is very proud of his historic El Paso home, which was once the site of an iconic meeting between the Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa and the United States General Hugh Scott. The meeting took place in 1915 and was deemed crucial in the negotiations that eventually led to the end of Mexico's civil war along the border.

Bob Dole – Washington, Undisclosed

In 2021, the iconic former American politician Bob Dole proved to have a sharp mind even at a very advanced age by talking about the legacy of Donald Trump and the future of the Republican Party with youthful clarity. As you'd expect from a political powerhouse such as Dole, he resides in Washington with his wife Elizabeth, a former United States Secretary of State.

While not much is known about the current property of the Doles, one thing's for sure: even in their retirement, these two continued to be one of the most respected couples in the nation's capital, especially amongst fellow politicians.

Nikki Haley – South Carolina, $2.4 Million

The former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley made headlines in The Guardian in 2021 after boldly claiming that politicians should release their tax returns and prove mental competency. Haley's returns ought to include the most extravagant purchase she's made in the last few years: a flashy $2.4-million South Carolina mansion!

With 5,774 square feet, four bedrooms, and 4.5 bathrooms, this lavish South Carolina abode was initially listed for $2.8 million, but Haley saved a hefty $400K. Not bad if you consider the stylish home also features at least two balconies and private terraces, as well as a poolside loggia.

Henry Kissinger - New York, $7.9 Million

Henry Kissinger is a diplomatic mastermind who worked extensively in Israel-Arab peace negotiations and talked alarmingly about tensions between the United States and China in 2021. Like the man himself, Kissinger's River House apartment is an iconic New York City cultural icon—but unlike Kissinger, it can be bought for $7.9 million!

The Observer reported the house's listing in 2012, so you may have missed your shot to "live like Kissinger" if you're only finding out about it now! In addition to the former United States National Security Advisor, celebrities such as Diane Keaton and Joan Crawford have also passed through River House.

Betsy DeVos - Holland, $10 Million

The former United States Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, is said to have an unbelievable fortune of $1 billion to her name. In 2021, it was reported that her family lost $100 million in the fraudulent former company Theranos, but guess what? Betsy is still living like the bonafide billionaire she is.

If you think her $10-million property in Holland is impressive, you should check her $40-million yacht! This opulent property makes for a 12,000-square-foot piece of paradise and comes with a guest house that's larger than the average home.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez - Parkchester, Undisclosed

A rising name in the political scene, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, made an impression at the 2021 Met Gala. She wore a white dress with the words "tax the rich" painted in bright red, making the most of the occasion to deliver a powerful political statement. But for all of her success, Ocasio-Cortez still lives in her home district.

In 2019, the NY Post reported that she'd left home, but she answered by saying, "I still live in my hood." That's right: Ocasio-Cortez still resides in the house her deceased father left her in the Bronx. It's a Parkchester apartment that can be seen in some of her Instagram posts.

Condoleezza Rice – Palo Alto, $1.96 Million

The first woman of color to fill in as Secretary of State, the legendary Condoleezza Rice is still one of the sharpest ladies in American politics. In 2021, she appeared in "The View" and praised Joe Biden's China policy while also claiming it's time to "move on" from January's Capitol invasion.

Speaking of moving on, Rice reportedly sold her Palo Alto home for $1.96 million in 2018. The buyer? None other than Stanford University! Reportedly, the American diplomat bought the property at a discount because the land beneath the home never stopped belonging to Stanford.

Mitch McConnell - Washington, $2 Million

The Senate Minority Leader since 2021, Mitchell McConnell, is highly featured in the Jonathan Karl book "Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show." The non-fiction work was published in November 2021 and exposed many of the internal issues that characterized Donald Trump's presidency.

McConnell can pick between his $750K Louisville residence and his $2-million Washington home whenever he needs a rest. The latter has roughly 3,000 square feet of living space and is on the protective radar of the Secret Services. After all, McConnell's abode in Louisville was reportedly vandalized by protesters in January 2021.

Joe Biden - Delaware, $2 Million

At the 2021 COP26 event, President Joe Biden made the news after falling asleep during a presentation. It wasn't one of America's proudest moments, and it's emblematic of Biden's presidency, which has been marked by a series of ups (such as his ambitious infrastructure bills) and downs.

According to House Beautiful, anyone with $2.4 million can move to Delaware and have Biden as a neighbor, as the next-door house to his Delaware mansion is on the market. As for Biden's abode, it's reported to be worth $2 million and features three bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It was acquired in 1998 for just $350K.

Rashida Tlaib - Detroit, Undisclosed

In 2021, the Democrat politician Rashida Tlaib promised to vote against Joe Biden's bipartisan infrastructure bill, deeming it is not ambitious enough regarding social spending. Little is known about Tlaib's residence in Detroit, but she's already publicly criticized for being a landlord.

An outspoken supporter of tenants' rights, Tlaib was criticized in 2020 for collecting rent while sponsoring legislation that would cancel it. She defended herself by saying she's in charge of one single rental home and that she has an amicable relationship with her long-time tenant. According to The Detroit News, she gets between $15K and $20K per year with the deal.

Nancy McFarlane – Raleigh, $2.1 Million

In 2021, the successor of Nancy McFarlane as the Mayor of Raleigh, Mary-Ann Baldwin, is having a rough time. She was targeted by protestors who blamed her for "gentrification," which may cause local property prices to rise exponentially. If that's the case, the news isn't so bad for McFarlane, who now works as a pharmacist and lives in one of Raleigh's most expensive homes.

She acquired her Raleigh mansion in 2013, paying a splashy $2.1 million for the property. The house is probably worth even more nowadays and features 3,900 square feet of living space and a beautiful garden.

Jenn Daniels – Gilbert, Undisclosed

The former mayor of Gilbert, Jenn Daniels, resigned abruptly from the job in 2020. Since then, she's virtually disappeared from public life. However, she's still active on Twitter and, as of 2021, she's working as the Director of Horizon Strategies. According to AZCentral, she lives in a comfortable Gilbert house she acquired in 1998 with her husband.

Daniels's home features a minimal style of decoration and a beautiful backyard swimming pool. The property was designed over the years by the former Gilbert Mayor and her family and includes many glass doors (even in the garage!), lots of natural light, four bedrooms, and 3.5 bathrooms.

Claire McCaskill – Washington, $2.75 Million

In 2021, the former Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill worked as a political analyst for MSNBC, often broadcasting from her home. Her current address was never disclosed, but she's known to have lived in one of Washington's most-wanted pieces of real estate: a lavish condo in the mixed-used development of CityCenterDC.

McCaskill and her husband got rid of their CityCenter condo in May 2021 and earned a hefty $2.7 million for it. In addition to a very privileged location, the penthouse-style property features two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. McCaskill and her family lived there for roughly seven years; they reportedly paid $2.71 million for the pad in 2014.

Karine Jean-Pierre - Washington, D.C., Undisclosed

Famed American political advisor Karine Jean-Pierre has always been close to the action, so it makes sense that she resides in a comfortable family home in Washington D.C.'s metropolitan area. Before joining Joe Biden's office as the 35th White House Press Secretary, she worked as an NBC News political analyst.

The first openly-gay Black woman to serve as White House Press Secretary, Jean-Pierre shares her beautiful Washington, D.C. residence with her partner, CNN correspondent Suzanne Malveaux, and their young daughter. Apart from a few photos of her residence captured during an interview, little is known about Jean-Pierre's real estate portfolio.

Barbara Boxer – San Francisco, $2.79 Million

In 2021, the American politician Barbara Boxer talked to the Los Angeles Times about being mugged while walking down a quiet street. Fortunately, she's okay and ready to get back to her role as a public servant. A New York native, she's been working in public service since the mid-'70s!

At one point, Boxer and her family lived in a luxurious San Francisco home that was listed for $2.79 million in 2010. It features four bedrooms and three bathrooms and was presumably picked up by a lucky buyer since hitting the market.
